KHAYIM-YITSKHOK ME-RIDIK (= from Ridik)
He hailed from Sonek, eastern Galicia.  He served as a religious judge in Sonek, Przemyśl, and Lemberg.  He authored religious texts in Hebrew and in Judeo-German, such as: Matses mitsve (The commandment of matzo), “here is stated the laws for baking matzo in ‘Yiddish’ [Taytsh], so that everyone should know how to comport themselves, should be sure to avoid banned leavened goods, and should know how to fulfill the commandment to eat matzo; also stated here are the laws of searching for leaven” (Lemberg, 1872), 14 pp., with a preface in Hebrew; and Dinim fun yedn tog un fun shabes un yontef (Laws of every day and of the Sabbath and holidays) (Lemberg, 1873), 64 pp.  These booklets—genuine rarities—were filmed in the Schiff collection of the New York Public Library.
