He came from Ukraine. He was the author of Yusele shlimazl (Yusele, the ne’er-do-well) (Odessa, 1904), 96 pp.—a
story about poor and rich in a Jewish town in Ukraine at the end of the
nineteenth century, written with humor, adapted to the tastes of the average
reader.
