YUDE TIBERG

YUDE TIBERG (May 25, 1900-September 4, 1984)
            He was born in Mlave (Mława), Poland.  He studied in religious primary school and in a yeshiva, later in a Polish high school.  From 1916 he was active in the Labor Zionist party in Warsaw.  He left Poland in 1923 for political reasons, lived for a time in Danzig, then departed for Belgium where he was the leader of the left Labor Zionist movement.  In 1940 he came to the United States and was active in various areas of Jewish community life.  He published articles in: Arbeter tsaytung (Workers’ newspaper) in Warsaw (1920); Dantsiger togblat (Danzig daily newspaper); Arbeter-vort (Workers’ word) (1924-1928) and Unzer yishev (Our community) in Brussels (1937-1939); Arbeter tsaytung (weekly published by the Labor Zionist Federation of Western Europe) in Paris (1922-1929); Undzer veg (Our way) in Montreal-New York (1948-1960); and others.  He also edited all of these newspapers.  In Pinkes mlave (Records of Mlave) (New York, 1950), pp. 259-66, he published “A serye geshtaltn” (A series of images).  He died in New York.
