AVROM
TIGER (1900-October 18, 1928)
He was born in Warsaw, Poland, the
younger brother of Zelig Tigel. He
studied in religious elementary school and yeshiva. During WWI, he worked in an ammunitions
factory in Köln. From 1919 he was living
in Antwerp, Belgium. He was editor of
the weekly newspaper, Di yudishe tsaytung
(The Jewish newspaper) in Brussels (1925-1928), in which he published articles
and stories about immigrant Jewish life.
He was the Belgian correspondent for Parizer
haynt (Paris today) and Moment
(Moment) in Warsaw. He authored the brochure:
Dos yidishe lebn in antverpn (Jewish
life in Antwerp), “features and notes” (Köln: self-published, 1921), 34
pp. He also wrote under such pen names
as: A. Gelti and A. Tili. He died in
Brussels.
