BEN GOLD

BEN GOLD (September 8, 1898-July 24, 1985)

            Born in Bessarabia, for many years he lived in New York and was active in unions and leftwing Jewish circles.  He was last living in Miami Beach.  In book form: Avreml broyde, di lebens-geshikhte fun an arbeter (Avreml Broyde, the biography of a laborer) (New York: Morgn frayhayt, 1944), 167 pp.; Mentshn, dertseylungen (Peoples, stories) (New York, 1948), 256 pp.; Der mazldiker dzhim, novele (Lucky Jim, a novella) (New York, 1968), 152 pp.; In yene teg, novele (In those days, a novella) (New York, 1970), 278 pp.; Der shturem in rivervil (The storm in Riverville) (New York, 1972), 252 pp.  He died in North Miami Beach, Florida.
