K. HADASHEVITSH

K. HADASHEVITSH (b. 1895)
            He was a Yiddish teacher, scientist, and cultural leader.  He lectured in the Jewish polytechnical schools in Minsk.  He contributed to the anthologies Tsaytshrift (Periodical) (Minsk, 1930), in which he published, among other works: “Der razbor fun der yidisher bafelkerung in vaysrusland” (Analysis of the Jewish population in Byelorussia).  He was the author of Yiddish-language schoolbooks, such as: Tsum sotsyalistishn dorf, hilfbukh far gezelshaft-kentenish farn 4-5 lernyor (Fore the socialist village, manual for societal knowledge for the 4th and 5th year of schooling) (Moscow-Minsk: Central Publ., 1930), 92 pp.; Unzer royter heym (Our red home), “workbook on social knowledge for third year in school” (Minsk, 1932), 125 pp.; Dos land fun sotsyalizm (The land of socialism), “workbook on social knowledge for fourth year in school,” with Sh. Yofe and M. Mohilnitski (Minsk, 1932), 196 pp.; Geshikhte fun der uralter gezelshaft in onheyb fun klasn-kamf (History of ancient society at the beginning of class struggle), “workbook for fifth year in school” (Minsk, 1933), 96 pp., with illustrations.  His subsequent fate remains unknown.
