G. GRINBERG
            He was a translator of popular scientific, economics, and school texts from Russian and Ukrainian into Yiddish, among them: Iu. A. Filipchenko’s Populere byologye (Popular biology), with a preface by the translator, in which he wrote concerning “the Yiddish workers’ school which have grown over the last two years” and “the necessity of written materials for school in Yiddish” (Moscow, 1929), 246 pp., with 119 illustrations; B. A. Surin, Vi oyftsupasn un tsu helfn a kelbike ku (How to tend and to help a pregnant cow) (Kharkov-Kiev, 1932), 84 pp., illustrated.  Grinberg was successful in his translations in conveying in a straightforward, ordinary, popular language the most important matters within the works at hand.  Other works by him include: Arbetbukh af naturvisnshaft (Workbook for natural science), first part (Kiev: Kultur-lige, 1926), 300 pp., with Y. Bukhtyanski and others; Arbet un lebn, alefbeys far likpunktn fun ibergevaksene (Work and life, ABCs of main points for the older) (Moscow: Central Publ., 1927), 98 pp., with S. Zhezmer and Z. Sheyn, second edition (1928); Arbetbukh af naturvisnshaft un geografye (Workbook for natural science and geography) (Kharkov: Central Publ., 1930), 264 pp., with Y. Bukhtyanski.
