YULYUS (JULIUS) GOLDE (b. 1882)
He was born in Plotsk (Płock), Poland, into an assimilated
family. He studied agriculture in Berlin. Under the influence of Nachman Syrkin and Volf
Latsky-Bertoldi, he supported the group “Hamon” (Masses) and was later a
prominent leader of the Zionist Socialist Party. Following the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia,
he was an active member of the Yidsektsye (Jewish section) and served on the
editorial board of the newspaper Emes (Truth) in Moscow. Over the course of many years, he was engaged
with the issue of Jewish colonization in Soviet Russia. Among his books: Di erd-aynordnung fun di
arbetndike yidn (The land arrangement of working Jews) (Moscow: Tsentr
Publishers, 1925), 100 pp.; Yidishe erd-aynordnung in fssr (Jewish land
arrangements in the USSR) (Moscow: Gezerd Publishers, 1926); Yidn erdarbeter
in krim (Jewish agriculturalists in Crimea) (Moscow: Emes Publishers,
1932), 62 pp. His subsequent fate
remains unknown.
