YOYSEF BERGER (1898-1941)
He was a leader in Agudas yisroel (lit. Union of
Israel, the orthodox political party) in eastern Galicia. He was a ritual slaughterer in Sasov (Sasów). He contributed
to Dos idishe togblat (The Jewish daily newspaper) in Warsaw, and published
current events articles and stories from Jewish family life in the spirit of the
Jewish religious tradition. He authored
an unpublished one-act play which was performed in Agudas dramatic circles in the
towns of eastern Galicia. He perished in
1941, according to Moyshe Zigler in Jerusalem.
